Carlos Correa Picked the Twins Because He Loves Jucy Lucys. We Have Confirmed Which Ones.

A classic Viraluae investigation.

The Minnesota Twins sent shockwaves through the baseball universe over the weekend with the surprise signing of Carlos Correa.

After inking a three-year, $105.3 million contract, the two-time All Star shortstop became the fourth-highest paid player in Major League Baseball. How'd the historically penny-pinching Twins land a stud of his caliber? Perhaps slightly in jest, the Athletic's Dan Hayes reported that Jucy Lucys "pushed Carlos Correa over the top" as he decided on his new baseball home.

"When I go to Minnesota, I diet for a week before going there so I can just crush Jucy Lucys every day," Correa, 27, told Hayes earlier today from Spring Training in Fort Myers, Florida.

Viraluae wasted no time inquiring on the obvious follow-up Q that's as burning as molten burger cheese: Where does Correa get his Jucy Lucys? Twins PR ace Dustin Morse quickly answered our frantic email.

"Matt’s, Shamrocks, and Hell's Kitchen," Morse informed us. "They are usually sent to the clubhouse, but he loves them."

For the Jucy Lucy ignorant, that's iconic south Minneapolis dive Matt's Bar, where Obama himself once housed a burger for political purposes; Shamrocks in St. Paul, a sister restaurant to respected Lucy joint The Nook; and Hell's Kitchen, the downtown Minneapolis staple that was acquired by its own workers just before the pandemic.

Additional signs point to Correa, who was born and raised in Puerto Rico, already being the ultimate Minnesotan. Consider this 2015 tweet from the Minnesota State Fair:

Please don't ever opt out of Minnesota, as is your contractual right after one year!!!
